Ceula.

The parish church of Ceula was the center of the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the whole district of Montale and included the Romanesque church of San Siro, the bell tower built on a medieval watchtower, the sixteenth-century oratory of Santa Croce, on the portal of which the effigy of the Holy Face of Lucca, and a fortified house in defense of the canons.

The church, dedicated to San Siro, probably dates back to the 11th century and has been renovated several times, particularly in the 18th century. The restoration, which took place around the 1950s, returned the two phases of construction: the medieval part, with three naves divided by round arches with stone columns and trussed roof, and the baroque one, visible on the facade and in the apse.

The church preserves interesting works of art: a Pieta with the saints Michele Arcangelo and Rocco (1620) by Gioacchino Assereto, a Madonna enthroned with the Child Jesus and two saints by Orazio De Ferrari, from the 17th century, a wooden Madonna from the workshop of Anton Maria Maragliano from the 18th century, and a gilt silver goblet of Genoese origin from the second half of the 15th century.
